WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- An attempted robbery in West Haven was botched when the suspect attempted to climb threw a drive-thru window and got hot coffee thrown in his face, police said.
The incident occurred just after 11 p.m. Saturday, at Dunkin Donuts, located at 967 First Avenue.
According to police, a white man, operating a white newer model Ford Explorer entered the drive-thru and asked the clerk for change for a $100 bill. Then when the clerk refused the man announced a robbery and attempted to climb through the window.
The clerk threw hot coffee in the man's face and he fled with nothing, police said.
