NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police are investigating a convenience store robbery that happened in New London.
The robbery occurred at Galaxy Convenience Store, located at 121 Montauk Ave.
Upon arrival, the clerk provided information to police, while other officers set up a perimeter.
Police said the clerk chased the suspect down Moore Ave. where the suspect took a hard fall, but then continued down the street.
A police K-9 attempted to track the suspect.
A short time later, a resident of Shaw St., which intersects with Moore Ave., called police saying that someone was banging on her door.
Police responded to the Shaw St. home and found evidence of the robbery outside the residence.
The suspect is described as a black man, 5'9"-5'10" tall, and weighing 200 lbs.
The investigation is ongoing.
