TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Torrington man was arrested after allegedly buying and using drugs while caring for his twin daughters.
According to police, a complaint was made around 8 p.m. Wednesday, regarding a missing father who was with his twin two-year-old girls.
Police said 28-year-old Dennis Robinson, of 927 New Harwington Rd., was reported missing by his family, who stated that he was over four hours late coming home with the children.
Torrington Police then put out an alert to all police departments in an effort to locate the vehicle Robinson and his daughters were driving.
There were additional concerns since Robinson reportedly had no spare diapers or food with him.
Shortly before 9 p.m. Robinson was spotted by officers driving on Lake Harwington Rd., in Harwington. Police then stopped Robinson who was driving the vehicle, along with an adult passenger and his two daughters in the back seat.
After investigating, police discovered that Robinson had purchased and used drugs during his absence from home, and while in the presence of his children.
Robinson was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor.
Bond was set at $5,000.
