(WTNH) -- A West Haven fire department captain and another man are facing charges accused of forcing a child into being a sex slave for 12 years.
In February, State Police in Royalton, VT began an investigation into an alleged sexual assault that happened in Ludlow.
Police said an adult victim reported he had been repeatedly assaulted since he was 12-years-old.
The victim was interviewed and said that for the past 12 years he had been in a sexual relationship with 2 males, police said.
One of the males lives in West Haven and the other lives in VT. The victim identified the male suspects as Frank Meyer, 39, of West Haven and Brett Bartolotta, 42, of Cavendish, VT.
According to New Haven Register, Meyer is a high ranking volunteer firefighter, a police dispatcher and is involved with the explorer program that gets kids involved with the fire department.
The investigation revealed that a sexual assault began in approximately 2001 and the victim continued the relationship when he reached the age of consent, police said.
The investigation also revealed the victim was paid money as well as given other gifts for his participation.
On Wednesday, both Meyer and Bartolotta were arrested without incident and processed at the Rockingham barracks.
Both men are being held on a $50,000 bond at the Southern State Correctional Facility.
Both were arraigned on Thursday in Windsor County Court.
