PD investigate homicide of 29-year-old

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- New Haven Police are investigating the second homicide of the year.

Around 6:30 p.m. police were dispatched to the Dunkin Donuts at 295 Blake Street for a person who'd been shot.

Upon arrival, officers found Lonni Star, 29, of New Haven with one gun shot wound. Star was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators learned that Star was most likely shot in the area of Level St. and Lodge St. He was then driven to the Dunkin Donuts by a woman who phoned 911.

The incident is under investigation.
