BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Bridgeport man was arrested on threatening charges Monday after bringing a bb gun to a neighbor's birthday party.
The incident occurred early Sunday, at 191 Newfield St.
Police said 27-year-old Nelson Ruis attended a birthday party of a downstairs neighbor, became intoxicated and got into an altercation with a guest.
Witnesses told police that the host asked Ruis to leave, but he returned with a gun in his waistband.
He then allegedly pulled it out and pointed the weapon at the host, who was celebrating her 20th birthday, and another guest, police said.
Ruis was detained in his 2nd floor apartment. The handgun was found in his bedroom during a search of the apartment, and was later determined to be a bb gun.
Ruis was charged with threatening with a firearm.
Bond was set at $1,000.
