GLASTONBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- An East Hartford man was arrested for voyeurism after admitting to recording activity in a Glastonbury church bathroom, police said.
Police said 32-year-old Darrel W. Lewis was previously arrested by East Hartford Police for voyeurism after admitting to placing a video camera to record activity within a bathroom at his place of employment.
Investigators in the Glastonbury case wound up comparing notes with investigators in East Hartford.
"And as result of that, they secured search warrents and we developed more information and it turns out he actually setup cameras at the First Family Church here in Glastonbury," said Agent James Kennedy, Glastonbury Police Dept.
After seizing digital evidence from Lewis' home, police issued 16 arrest warrants detailing Lewis' alleged conduct against 20 church members.
According to police, Lewis videotapes activity inside two ladies bathrooms, some of which recorded conversations.
Lewis also allegedly sexually touched two adults and a juvenile, police said.
Lewis, of 57 Driver Rd., East Hartford, was charged with 45 counts of voyeurism, eight counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, four counts of eavesdropping, and one count of risk of injury to a minor.
