WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A West Haven man was arrested after breaking into a home and locking himself in the homeowner's car, police said.

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, at a home on Savin Avenue.

Police said the resident called 911 stating that someone had entered his garage and was sitting inside his car.

Upon arrival, police found 21-year-old Damian Marcus Mcintosh, of 145 Norfolk St., sitting inside the owner's vehicle.

The vehicle was locked and once it was remotely unlocked, Mcintosh became combative with officers, police said.

Police deployed a taser to subdue Mcintosh.

He later explained to police that he was under the influence of crack cocaine.

Mcintosh was charged with burglary, larceny, interfering with police, and possession of narcotics.
