SUFFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Massachusetts man was arrested Sunday after police discovered him wearing a mask and hiding in the basement of a home upon responding to a burglary alarm.
The incident occurred just after 11:30 p.m., at 805 Mountain Rd.
Police said the man, Scott Houghtaling, was found hiding in a crawlspace in the basement area of the home.
According to police, investigation revealed that the masked man, Houghtaling, kicked in the basement window to gain access to the home.
Houghtaling, of 82 Hall St., Feeding Hills, MA, was charged with first-degree burglary, breach of peace, and third-degree criminal mischief.
He is being held on $100,000 bond.
