TRUMBULL, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Trumbull student was arrested after making threats while leaving the school, about returning in a manner similar to the tragedy at Sandy Hook.

The incident occurred at Cooperative Educational Services, located at 25 Oakview Dr.

According to police, staff members said a student at the school was being told he could no longer return there. The student's mother arrived to take him home and as he was leaving, he made a threat to return to the school in a manner similar to the tragedy at Sandy Hook.

Officers were immediately assigned to the school's two locations and police prepared a search warrant for the suspect and any weapons.

James Patrick Ryan, 18, of Stratford, was charged with second-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace.

Bond was set at $25,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 28th.
