VERNON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A woman was arrested after police say she hit a pedestrian on Route 30/Hartford Turnpike near Mt. Vernon Drive in Vernon.
Joan Seplowitz, 63, was charged with DUI and second degree assault with a motor vehicle after police say she struck the pedestrian around 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
The pedestrian, who was not identified, was seriously injured and was transported to St. Francis Hospital by helicopter.
Seplowitz was held for several hours, until she posted a $25,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on September 25.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
