STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a Goodwill in Stamford Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred just before 8 a.m., at the Goodwill located at 1 West Broad St.
Police said that a black male entered the rear of the store with a handgun and demanded that the store clerk open the safe.
The clerk opened the safe and the suspect took approximately $13,000 in cash.
When the suspect left the store he was confronted by another co-worker, at which point he pulled a knife on the co-worker and took off running to the rear of the building. The suspect proceeded on towards the parking garage of 25 Adams Ave.
The suspect then discarded several items and was last seen walking north on Adams Ave.
Video surveillance captured the suspect. He is described as a light skinned black male, 5'8"-5'10", with a thin build, and a goatee-style beard. He was wearing a dark sweatshirt with white writing, and black sweatpants with white stripes at the time of the incident.
The suspect was carrying a black duffel bag. He is between 25 and 30 years old.
