NORFOLK, Conn. (WTNH) - Two men have been arrested after allegedly setting multiple fires and breaking into a home in Norwalk on Saturday.

Just before midnight, State Police received a report of a residential structure fire at 292 Wheeler Road.

Upon arriving police found the house unoccupied. Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control before it destroyed the residence.

Then just before 2 a.m. Sunday police received a call from a homeowner at 206 Westside Road, who said she heard intruders in her basement and they fled after she yelled to them.

While responding to the fire on Wheeler Road, a trooper diverted to the intruder call. When the trooper arrived in the neighborhood, he observed that the Norfolk Curling Club, located at 70 Golf Drive, was also on fire.

Shortly after that, police received a call from a man who said he had been involved in a car accident on Mountain Road, which is less than a mile from the Curling Club.

When police arrived on the scene, they found two men standing outside of the vehicle on Mountain Road.

After investigating, police found evidence linking the driver, 19-year-old Kyle Majewski, of 8 Prock Hill Rd., Sandisfield, MA., and the passenger, 19-year-old Matthew Carey, of 87 Briarwood Trail, Torrington, to the crimes.

Both were charged with two counts of second-degree arson, three counts of first-degree burglary, three counts of second-degree criminal trespass, four counts of first-degree criminal mischief, and one count of third-degree larceny.

Both are being held on bond and will appear in court on Monday, December 19th.
