Police ID Hartford assault victim

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police have identified an assault victim who died last week in Hartford.

Police said 48-year-old Sonia Niomis Rivera, of Hartford, was found at 216 Washington Street on September 27th. She succumbed to her injuries two days later at Hartford Hospital.

The Office of the Chief State's Medical Examiner determined Rivera's death to be a homicide.

The investigation into Rivera's death remains ongoing.
