NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A New Haven man died after being shot in the city Tuesday night.
The incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. in the Malcolm Court area.
Police said callers to 911 stated hearing several shots from the area, which is a part of the Church Street South public housing complex near Columbus Ave.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 29-year-old Joseph Mirvil, of New Haven, who had been critically wounded.
Mirvil was rushed by ambulance to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
No additional details are available at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
