HAMPTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police are investigating a home invasion in Hampton.
The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, at 11 Bigelow Rd.
Initial investigation determined that two males forced their way into the home, assaulted a male victim and tied him up.
The two suspects stole a TV and other property from the home.
The suspects then fled the scene in an older dark purple Ford Taurus, which was seen fleeing from the scene on Route 6 westbound.
The victim was able to free himself and call State Police. He was not injured during the incident.
One of the suspects is described as a Hispanic man, 6'1", with a medium build and a mustache, wearing gray sweatpants and shirts.
The other suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 5'9", with a medium build and short dark hair, wearing thick black rimmed glasses, and jeans.
News 8 knocked on the victims door but the response was, "I don't want to talk to anybody."
A next door neighbor, who's lived here for years, says he never expected a home invasion investigation so close to home.
"It sounds like the victim knows these two people," News 8's Erin Logan said to Lt. J. Paul Vance of the Connecticut State Police.
"Difficulty to say. Certainly our detectives responded to work with the responding troopers and we will examine all aspects of this case," Lt. Vance said.
Troopers are asking anyone who may have seen the suspect vehicle or has any knowledge of the incident to call 860-779-4900.
