HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police are searching for a woman who attempted to steal more than $400 worth of goods from a grocery store in Hamden.

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. on November 20th, at Stop & Shop, located at 1245 Dixwell Ave.

Investigation revealed that a white female, in her late 20's, with brown hair, exited the store without purchasing $428.93 worth of merchandise.

When the woman was approached by store security she left her cart with stolen items and quickly got into her vehicle, which is described as a maroon Subaru Impreza.

The woman then struck two other vehicles while fleeing the parking lot. One of the vehicles was occupied by a mother and her four-year-old child.

No injuries were reported.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Gregg Curran of the Hamden Police Department Traffic Division at (203) 230-4000.
