NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police arrested two men and returned a parolee to state custody during a traffic stop in Norwich Sunday.
Around 5:30 p.m. Sunday a Norwich officer was conducting routine patrol on West Main St. when he noticed a vehicle traveling without its headlights on.
The officer stopped the vehicle and observed the five occupants acting suspicious.
Several other Norwich officers then responded to the scene to assist.
Further investigation revealed that two of the occupants were in possession of illegal narcotics and one of the occupants was in possession of a handgun.
Two people were arrested, while a third occupant of the vehicle was on parole and immediately remanded back to the Dept. of Corrections.
Nestor A. Pagan, 29, of 114 Coleman St., New London, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal possession of a firearm, alteration of a firearm serial number, and possession of narcotics.
Nathaniel R. Moore, 24, of 33 Sullivan Dr., Norwich, was charged with possession of a hallucinogenic substance.
Police said Pagan has an extensive violent criminal history. He was held on $10,000 bond.
Moor was released on a $5,000 bond.
Both are scheduled to appear in Norwich Superior Court on December 13th.
