Middletown, Conn. (WTNH) - Middletown made several arrests in a drug bust on Pearl Street.
The police had information that Patricia Harris, 54, was allowing narcotics traffickers to sell crack cocaine out of her apartment.
When they arrived on the scene, officers encountered Wayne Munson, 37, who told them that he was there to retrieve Carrie Russell, 45. Munson told officers that Russell had a crack cocaine habit and had not returned home.
After this encounter, police entered the apartment. They found several known female crack cocaine users; Cary Hawkins Doran, 53, Jean Carroll, 49, and India Jones, 41.
Officers also found crack cocaine on the living room table, along with razor blades and three used glass crack pipes.
Harris was subsequently arrested and held on a $50,000 bond.
In addition to the women, officers also found two black men in the living room of the apartment. Police struggled to handcuff Charles Shannon, 37, and Franklin Brown, 53.
Shannon told police he was there to smoke crack cocaine and get high, however a narcotics canine alerted police to Shannon's butt and groin area. After another struggle, police removed a clear cellophane bag containing crack cocaine from inside Shannon's pants. Detectives then removed 8.8 grams of crack cocaine from Shannon's butt.
Shannon was subsequently arrested and held on a $200,000 bond.
Shannon and Harris both have extensive criminal histories.
