CROMWELL, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police responded to a bank robbery in Cromwell Wednesday morning.
The crime occurred at Citizen's Bank, located at 61 Shunpike Rd.
Police said four suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction on Route 3 after robbing the bank.
A red dye pack exploded as the suspects fled, police said.
The suspect vehicle, described as a light brown or tan, older model Nissan Maxima, was last seen exiting the shopping center.
Police said a short time later a citizen of Cromwell Hills Condo Association reported a suspicious vehicle, parked and unoccupied, with the windows down and money scattered inside and outside the vehicle.
Officers were able to locate the vehicle and determine through DMV records that the vehicle had been reported stolen from Hartford earlier in the day.
No injuries were reported.
Anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area of Citizens Bank, located in the Cromwell Square Shopping Plaza, or in the area of Briar Court, Cromwell Hills, are asked to contact Detective Frank DiMaio at the Cromwell Police Department at 860-635-2256 ext. 24.
