BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police are asking for help in identifying a Branford robbery suspect.
The robbery occurred at the Branford Gulf Gas Station, located at the intersection of East Main St. (Route 1) and North Branford Rd. (Route 139), just after 7 p.m. Saturday.
The suspect is described as a white man, 25-35 years old, 5'9"-5'10" tall, and weighing approximately 200 lbs. He was wearing a red or maroon hooded sweatshirt with blue jeans and white sneakers.
According to police, the suspect reached over the counter and into the cash register after demanding the clerk open the drawer.
Lt. Arthur Kohloff said, "no weapon was actually displayed, however, from his actions he indicated that he was concealing one in his sweatshirt."
The department's K-9, Neecko, searched the immediate area after the robbery and was unable to located the suspect. Police believe he may have fled the area in a vehicle that was parked nearby.
The incident remains under investigation.
