NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with an assault that happened in New Fairfield last month.
The incident occurred around 10 a.m. on September 25th. The victim called 911 reporting an interrupted residential burglary and assault at a home on Newfane Rd.
Initial investigation determined that an adult female had entered the residence, and was confronted and assaulted by a lone male suspect who was believed to have already been inside the residence.
After the assault, the suspect fled from the house in an unknown direction and manner of travel. The victim was taken to Danbury Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Troopers searched for the suspect, but were unable to locate him.
The suspect is described by the victim as a black man, approximately 30 years old, with a medium complex and no facial hair, brown eyes, 5'9 to 6' tall, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, low rider blue jeans and black sneakers.
Police were able to compose a sketch from the victim's description.
The investigation is ongoing.
