Police: Serial bank robber busted

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- U.S. Marshals arrested a man wanted in connection with three bank robberies in New Haven, police announced Thursday.
Lenwood Saunders, 43, was arrested Wednesday.
Saunders is accused of robberies that occurred at TD Bank on Chapel St. on September 14, at Chase Bank on Church St. on September 18, and at First Niagara Bank on Church St. on October 16.
"When Saunders was apprehended he was in possession of several driver's licenses, none of them his own, approximately $280, and a small amount of heroin," New Haven Police Sgt. Nicholas Marcucio said in a news release.
Saunders may also be responsible for a bank robbery in Newark, NJ, on September 29.
