Prisoner escapes police custody

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police in New Haven are searching for an escaped prisoner.

Paige Ivan Stanley, 21, was receiving medical care at Yale-New Haven Hospital when he escaped around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The details of his escape are being investigated.

Stanley is a black male who stands about 5'06" tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and a tattoo of the word "Jasmine" on the left side of his chest.

He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black denim jeans and white sneakers.

Police say he fled onto Park Street through a North Pavilion building exit.

Stanley had been picked up charges of first degree burglary, third degree assault and third degree criminal mischief.
