AUBURN, Mass. (AP) -- Massachusetts state police have charged a man with drunken driving and leaving the scene of a highway crash that seriously injured a Connecticut man.
Troopers responded to the westbound side of Interstate 290 in Auburn at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday and found a man who had been ejected from his car. State police identified the victim as a 45-year-old resident of Putnam, Conn. His name hasn't been released.
Authorities say the man is in critical condition at a hospital in Worcester.
State police later arrested Keith Leblanc of Auburn on a series of charges including drunken driving, speeding and leaving the scene of an accident. He's being held on $5,000 bail pending an arraignment scheduled for Monday at Worcester District Court.
It's not clear if Leblanc has a lawyer.
