NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) - A 19-year-old man found dead in a wooded area of Plymouth in February had been beaten to death in a dispute over $750.
According to court records unveiled Monday, Dylan Sherman of Bristol was killed because he was suspected of stealing the money from his ex-girlfriend's brother.
Sherman's body was found Feb. 23 by a hiker. Police say he had been hit in the back of the head with a bat with such force that pieces of his skull were "detached."
According to records, Dennis and Michael Guerrera beat Sherman in Sarah Boilard's home because they believed he had stolen the money from Michael Boilard. Police say the body was dragged to the woods.
Five people have been arrested in connection with Sherman's death. Their lawyers have questioned the evidence.
