Reward offered for tips in Norwalk double homicide

NORWALK, Conn. (AP) — Norwalk police have announced a $50,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the unsolved killings of two people in 2011.

State's Attorney David Cohen said Thursday that Gov. Dannel P. Malloy approved his request for a reward in the shooting deaths of 22-year-old Rickita Smalls and 27-year-old Iriquois Alston. Norwalk police asked Cohen to request the reward.

The bodies of Smalls and Alston were found in a car on Avenue B on the morning of Aug. 6, 2011. Police initially weren't sure if it was a double murder or a murder-suicide, but autopsies showed both were victims of a homicide.

Anyone with information about the killings is urged to call Norwalk police.
