Serial armed robber sought by New Haven police

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)-- New Haven police are on the lookout for a serial armed robber who they believe is responsible for four commercial armed robberies in just over a week.

At noon on Saturday, the suspect walked into the Pizza Hut at 864 Whalley Avenue, and threatened the clerk with a knife for between $30.00 and $40.00 from the register, police said.

On Friday, police believe the same man robbed the Dunkin Donuts at 291 Ferry Street, also with a knife.

Police say he is also a suspect in the January 3rd 7-11 robbery at 1351 Whalley Avenue, and the January 9th robbery at a Subway on 188 Grand Avenue. For both of these robberies, the man was armed with a syringe instead of a knife.

The perpetrator is believed to be a white male between 5'8" and 5'10" and weighs between 200 lbs. and 220 lbs.
