Shelton home invasion suspect arrested

Shelton, Conn. (WTNH) - An Ansonia man has been arrested for his involvement in a Shelton home invasion.

30-year-old Raymond Cardona was arrested after trying to evade police on charges of home invasion, robbery, assault, as well as charges for a unrelated domestic violence incident.

Police say Cardona broke into an apartment on Howe Avenue in Shelton and then pistol-whipped a man he was robbing. Then, a fight ensued, and Cardona took off.

The incident occurred on Monday, Jan. 23 around 12:15 p.m.

Police say this was a targeted incident, and not a random act of violence.

Cardona was held on a combined $550,000.00 bond.

The incident is under investigation.
