Man charged with sex assault of child

Shelton, Conn. (WTNH) - Police in Shelton have arrested an Easton man for allegedly sexually assaulting a five year old girl.

Joel Gagner, 45, has been charged with first degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.

Police say the assault happened in Shelton in May of 2010. Gagner was an acquaintance of the family.

Gagner posted bond and is due back in court November 22.
