Newington, Conn. (WTNH) - Newington Police are investigating a fatal shooting at a motel on the Berlin Turnpike.

Police say 44-year-old Edward Landry was shot several times at the Carrier Motor Lodge at 10:13 p.m. Monday. He was pronounced dead a short time later at Hartford Hospital.

Police say Landry was living at the motel.

Police have arrested 35-year-old Alanna Carey for his murder. Her motive is still unclear, police say.

Carey is being held on a $1,000,000.00 bond, pending her appearance in New Britain Superior Court.

An autopsy is expected to be performed.

Police are asking anyone who may have information on this incident to call Detective Laurence DeSimone of the Newington Police Department at 860-594-6239.
