PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A car break-in early Sunday morning led to a chase on foot, with the suspects tased and charged after all was said and done, police say.

Around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the area of Stanley Drive in the Moosup section of Plainfield, for a reported break-in to a motor vehicle.

Officers spotted two individuals running through nearby yards and residents. This led to a length foot chase of about a half mile through a wooded area along High Street.

Matthew Mineau, 19 and Christopher Lavasseur, 26 were apprehended after being tased. The two were also in possession of numerous stolen items, police say.

They were charged with interfering with police, several counts of burglary, larceny and credit card crimes. The duo is held on bond, pending arraignment in Danielson Superior Court on Monday, July 2nd.

Citizens who reside in the area and had items stolen on June 30th or July 1st should contact the police station.

Residents are also reminded to remove valuables from cars and to securely lock vehicles at all times, when they are not in use.
