Sterling (WTNH) - State Police have arrested a Sterling man for a string of home burglaries and one attempted burglary.
The burglaries all happened on February 2.
A woman on Gibson Hill Road called 9-1-1 when the suspect allegedly tried to force his way into her home. Christopher Romano, 42, fled the scene when she began to scream and was spotted a short time later by a state trooper in Plainfield.
The trooper says the stolen property was in plain view in his car, including jewelry, personal checks and food. A search of the car also revealed a .22 caliber rifle.
Romano faces a slew of charges including burglary, possession of narcotics, and motor vehicle charges.
