WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police seized a 40-feet storage trailer on Friday, containing tons of stolen equipment inside.

As a result of an ongoing criminal investigation, the West Haven Police Department has seized a forty foot storage trailer that contains tools and construction equipment that is estimated to be worth tens of thousands of dollars.

The stolen articles appear to have been stolen from numerous landscaping, tree cutting and construction companies.

The names of all companies and/or owners of the items is unknown at this time, although some of the items are marked/labeled with company names. Individual homeowners may have also been victimized.

It is estimated that it will take several days just to identify and catalog all of the evidence seized.

A showing of the items to the public is anticipated in the future, so that owners may locate and identify their possessions.

No arrests have been made at this point, although the investigation is ongoing.
