Suffield, Conn. (WTNH) - Two teenage boys told police that they were breaking into homes and stealing items because they needed money to pay for college.

18-year old Ryan Piquette of Windsor Locks and a 17-year old, who has not been identified because of his age, are facing burglary and larceny charges in Suffield, East Granby and Agawam, Massachusetts.

Police say they recovered some of the stolen items including electronics, jewelry and cash.

The teens were each released on a $10,000 bond and are due in court later this month.
