Suspect arrested in Dec. 2011 homicide

New haven, Conn. (WTNH) - Police have arrested a suspect in a December 2011 murder.

Kenneth McCoy, 31, was arrested outside his West Haven home on Wednesday around 4 p.m.

He was charged with murder, criminal possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment, and unlawful discharge.

McCoy is being held on a $2 million dollar court set bond.

Hamden resident Dallas Bloomer, 27, was killed as he was driving his car down Willis Street on December 6, 2011. After he was shot, the car crashed into a stop sign near Fournier Street.

The gunshots, which were fired just after 1 a.m., were first detected by the city's shotspotter system.

Bloomer's death marked New Haven's 32nd homicide of 2011.
