WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) — A suspect accused of fatally shooting a Waterbury man in April has been charged with murder.
The Republican-American reports ( http://bit.ly/X6ONP4 ) that Waterbury police Capt. Christopher Corbett says Luis Colon Ortega was extradited from Puerto Rico on Friday and is being held at the city's Police Department.
He says two detectives traveled to Puerto Rico on Thursday and returned to Waterbury with Ortega. He is charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Ortega is scheduled to be arraigned at Waterbury Superior Court on Monday.
Police say the 25-year-old Ortega fatally shot Danny Gonzalez while riding with him on April 29. Police say the two men had a dispute over a woman.
