Mansfield, Conn. (WTNH) - Two people were arrested and charged with breach of peace after a suspicious incident alarmed five children.
The incident happened around 7:20am at the intersection of Centre Street and Clark Street in Mansfield. Five Middle-School-aged children were waiting at the bus stop when a red SUV-type car drove up.
The driver, whom children described as an Asian male in his mid-20s, told the kids he was their new bus driver, and to get in the car.
The driver and the occupant of the car laughed and then pulled away.
The children reported the incident to their bus driver.
Troopers and detectives from the State Police Major Crime Squad were sent to the area and initiated an investigation.
Police were able to locate the car and it’s occupants on Clover Mill Road near Route 195. Officers interviewed the driver, Ruslin Hsia, 21, and the passenger, Clare Ann Dzilenski, 18. Both were arrested and charged with breach of peace.
The suspects were processed and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and are scheduled to appear in court on October 31.
