HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A West Hartford High School teacher and his wife faced a judge Monday, accused in a marijuana growing operation.
The long-time English teacher at Northwest Catholic School and his wife showed up at Hartford Superior Court Monday afternoon. Both had posted bond following their arrests last week for running a marijuana growing operation in their home.
News 8 camera's were there when 40-year-old Christopher Gallagher and his 44-year-old wife Kristine walked into the courthouse.
They were arrested last week after at least 90 marijuana plants and other items associated with marijuana growth and distribution were found in their Bloomfield home.
Police also confiscated guns from the home.
The West Hartford teacher faces five charges, including the sale of certain illegal drugs, sale of a controlled substance, and operation of a drug factory. He's also charged with having drugs near a school, housing complex or daycare.
His wife's attorney told the judge Monday that he plans to get the charges against her dropped. He says she's cooperated with police in the investigation.
He plans to file a motion to dismiss based on insufficient evidence on July 2nd when the couple returns to court.
