Teen charged in connection with murder

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Waterbury teenager has been arrested in connection with a murder that took place there over the weekend.

The homicide occurred on Proctor Street , on Saturday May 12th.

Eighteen-year-old Alexia Bates, of 16 Fourth Street, has been charged with tampering with evidence.

Police said Bates assisted in destroying evidence of the murder after it happened.

She is being held on $150,000 bond.

No additional details are being released at this time, as the investigation is ongoing.

Police said they are still seeking the shooter and are following strong leads in the investigation.
