Plainfield, Conn. (WTNH) - Police have arrested two teens responsible for a January fire at the former Firehouse Restaurant in Wauregan.

The fire occurred on January 9th.

Plainfield Police said that the former restaurant was found to be engulfed in flames with smoke billowing from the building upon arrival.

The fire was quickly ruled arson .

After further investigation police found two teens to be responsible for the fire. When questioned the 15-year-old and 16-year-old admitted to accidentally lighting the building on fire when they were playing with lighters, setting items on fire and throwing them.

Both teens were issued summonses for third-degree arson and will be presented in Juvenile Court in Willimantic. They were released into the custody of their parents.
