MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Two teenagers were found stabbed Friday night and one of the victims has died, police said.
Police say that around 9:30 p.m. Friday, a 911 call was made, reporting that two male victims had been stabbed on Kensington Avenue, in the vicinity of Midstate Medical Center.
Neighbors told News 8 that they were the first people to respond to the stabbing. "We were the first people trying to help," one of them said said. "We were the first people trying to lift them up."
A police officer, along with several members of the Medical Center staff responded to the scene. Deandre Felton, 15, died as a result of stab wounds and the other was rushed to Hartford Hospital via LifeStar.
"That's when we saw this kid right here because people were screaming like crazy," a neighbor told News 8. "We went to see what happened and there was a kid on the floor. I kept on walking to see where the killer was and there was my friend, right there."
"I'm not sure if the person who did this is the same age," explained Amber Waite, a neighbor. "I just can't believe somebody would have the heart to do that to somebody. I feel so bad for the families."
There was no updated condition on the teenager who survived, but he had been rushed to Hartford Hospital via LifeStar.
Anyone with information regarding the stabbing is urged to contact Detective Martin Eisner at (203) 630-6260.
