New Britain, Conn. (WTNH) - Police have made a third arrest in the 2010 shooting death of Jorge David Aponte in New Britain.

On Tuesday, police arrested 25-year-old Thomas Aquiles, of 137 Vance St., in connection with the homicide.

On November 14, 2010, police received a call of a man shot in the area of 22 Black Rock Ave. When officers arrived they found 27-year-old Aponte, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead at Hospital of Central Connecticut New Britain Campus.

Earlier this month Victor Andino, 35, of 124 Jubilee St., and Richard Ruiz, 22, of 14 Dwight St., were both arrested in connection with the crime.

Andino was charged with murder. Ruiz and Aquiles were both charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Aquiles is currently serving a sentence for an unrelated incident and is being held on $100,000 bond for the new charge.

The investigation is ongoing.
