TT driver arrested for crash that killed DOT worker

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- An out-of-state woman was arrested in connection with an accident that took the life of a Department of Transportation worker last March.

The accident occurred on March 22, 2012, in the area of Exit 30 on Route 8 northbound.

Police said a tractor trailer, operated by 48-year-old Gina M. Davies, of Janesville, WI., struck a DOT worker who was conducting highway maintenance.

The DOT worker sustained fatal injuries.

Davies was charged with failure to drive in the proper lane, false statement, interfering with an officer, misconduct with a motor vehicle, and multiple violations for hours of service of drivers.

Bond was set at $4,000.
