Middletown, Conn. (WTNH) - Two Middletown residents were arrested on drug charges Wednesday.
Police said after receiving numerous complaints they obtained a search and seizure warrant for the residence at 37 Cubeta Rd., and also for 30-year-old Dhafir Amin.
After investigating police found that Amin lived at the home with 30-year-old Tamisha Thigpen.
On Wednesday, police saw Thigpen driving Amin's Nissan Maxima, traveling west on Cross St., with Amin riding shotgun. When police stopped the vehicle, they observed Thigpen climbing into the passenger seat and Amin climbing into the driver's seat.
Police took both occupants into custody and proceeded to execute the search warrant. Upon entering the home police saw trash and food strewn throughout. There was also a large pit bull in a cage. Police also found 30, 30 milligram Roxicodone pills in an aspirin bottle.
Amin was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 ft. of a housing project, three counts of risk of injury to a minor, and interfering with police. He is being held on $150,000 bond.
Thigpen was charged with interfering with police, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and three counts of risk of injury to a minor. She was released on $10,000 bond.
Police said Amin was also arrested last week in Meriden and charged with possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell, as he was selling 40 milligram oxycodone.
Department of Children & Families was contacted as police said there were three children, ages 8, 4, and 1, who reside in the home and were present when Amin conducted his sales.
