Stonington (WTNH) - Stonington police have arrested two people on drug charges after an investigation that began when a high school student got sick eating a brownie.
Robert Faillace, 50, of Pawcatuck, was arrested Dec. 30th on charges including cultivation and possession of marijuana.
Diana Kelleher, 47, also of Pawcatuck, was arrested on marijuana possession charges.
The police case began on December 22 when officers were called to Stonington High School. A student had eaten a brownie and it was suspected that the brownie may have a drug in the ingredients, police said in a news release. Two other students had also become sick.
Police eventally got a search warrant for Faillace's home on Russell Ave. Inside they found and seized more than two pounds of marijuana, over 150 vials of hash oil, growing supplies, paraphernalia, and an unspecified amount of cash.
Faillace was released on a $50,000 non-surety bond. He is scheduled to appear in court January 7th.
Kelleher was freed on a $5,000 non–surety bond and is scheduled to be in court the following day, January 8th.
