NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)-- Two New Haven men were arrested on eight drug charges on Wednesday night.
Police say they were patrolling the East View public housing complex around 7:30 PM, after responding to trespass and loitering complaints.
A grey Dodge parked in a spot on Jackson Lane, tried to pull off before being stopped by police.
Police say they smelled PCP when they approached the car.
The driver, Anthony Jamison, 25, fumbled around and could not provide officers the proper paperwork.
The passenger, David Mitchell, 31, told officers that he was on parole and didn't have identification.
Both men told police there weren't any drugs in the car. After police searched the vehicle, they found a golf ball size of aluminum foil, which is normally used to package PCP, that Jamison was sitting on. Inside the foil was ten bags of PCP.
Police also found six bags of crack cocaine in the open glove compartment on the passenger's side.
Both men were arrested and charged with committing eight drug crimes.
