VERNON, Conn. (WTNH)-- A Vernon woman was charged with risk of injury to a minor after turning herself into police on Sunday.
Stacy Beaudry,34, had a warrant out for her arrest, stemming from an April 26th accident, where she crashed the school bus she was driving full of children.
Police say Beaudry was driving to Vernon Middle School with 29 students on the bus, when she clipped a utility poll and went off the road into some trees and brush.
No one was seriously injured but fourteen students were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Beaudry initially told police she wasn't using her cell phone, taking medications or had consumed alcohol the day of the accident. However, she later admitted she took some prescription medication before the crash.
Beaudry was also charged with reckless endangerment, false statement, improper lane, and reckless driving.
She was released on $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on January 8th.
