Clinton, Conn. (WTNH) - A woman who was arrested on drunk driving charges had a blood alcohol level five times the legal limit, Clinton police said.
Police arrested Kim Marshall, 35, on August 14 after she registered a blood alcohol content of .406. The legal limit in Connecticut is .08.
Police said two residents called around 2:30 p.m. Saturday and described Marshall driving erratically down West Main Street in her Jeep Liberty. According to the witnesses, Marshall was following closely to other vehicles and slamming on her brakes.
She then drove through a fast food drive-thru, where police say she stuck her feet out her car window and almost hit the building. Police say there was also a church fair in town which Marshall was driving towards.
When officers pulled Marshall over she was incoherent and had denied she had been drinking. Police said she had trouble focusing on questions and standing.
Police said they found Suboxone and Clonazepam in her possession. Police believe Suboxone is used to help people with a heroin addiction, while Clonazepam helps with seizures and panic attacks.
Marshall faces multiple charges including DUI, possession of narcotics, and operating a vehicle under a suspended license. She was held on a non-surety bond and is schedule to appear in Middletown Superior Court on August 24.
Clinton police said this was the second highest blood alcohol level ever recorded in the city. The highest was .416.
