NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A New London woman was arrested for drunk driving after crashing into a utility pole on New Year's Eve.
Just before midnight, 37-year-old Rosa Garcia, of 53 Raymond St. #1, lost control of her vehicle while traveling southbound on Colman St. and struck a utility pole at the intersection of Cedar Grove Ave.
Garcia was not injured in the crash, but the utility pole snapped in two.
Colman St. between Broad St. and Jefferson Ave. was shut down for several hours.
Garcia was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and failure to drive right.
Bond was set at $1,000.
